Learn how Kids in Motion collaboration began and filled a community need. Dave Garbarino, Director of Health, Athletics and Physical Education for Binghamton City Schools shares how his team created movement in the classroom curriculum to increase physical activity during the school day. This led to a partnership with WSKG to film and package content for use across the district, region, state and country. Fourth grade teacher Mrs. Howard shares how using movement breaks during the day helps to build community in her class. Physical Education teacher Mrs. Hertzog explains how incorporating movement in the classroom has led to an increase in teacher collaboration especially focused on common core content.
Kids in Motion was created in partnership with Binghamton City School District, Broome County Health Department, Broome-Tioga BOCES and is part of Working on Wellness, supported by the Conrad and Virginia Klee Foundation.
